OVERVIEW
|
| |
|
| |
This is the fifth meeting of this highly acclaimed conference that previous attendees have praised for its quality and usefulness. This year's conference will focus on local issues and solutions within the Vermont community, although many of these topics are relevant broadly. Other changes include shortened lecture times and the addition of several non-psychiatrist faculty to the program. |
| |
AUDIENCE
Pediatricians, Family Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Mental Health Professionals, Educators, Social Workers and Adult Psychiatrists with interests in children and adolescents.
|
| |
Course Objectives
The objective of this course is to equip primary care clinicians and other professionals with practical and updated strategies for the diagnosis and treatment of many of the most common childhood psychiatric conditions. Specific disorders and behaviors covered in this conference include ADHD, bipolar disorder, substance use and aggression. |
| |
Emphasis will focus on incorporating strategies within the practical confines of a busy outpatient primary care setting. Treatment options, both pharmacological and nonpharmacological, will be presented. A practical handout, designed to be used as a reference in the office, will be distributed. There will also be opportunities for small group discussion of your specific clinical questions. |
